Newark, CA – June 18th, 2025 – Custom Microwave Inc, a Vitesse Systems company, is proud to support the Space Development Agency’s (SDA) Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture (PWSA). Vitesse Systems is a contributing partner on both the Tranche 1 and Tranche 2 transport layers for this vital next-generation constellation program.

As part of the SDA’s overall strategy, the agency is leveraging key industry partners to deliver a significant number of satellites across various tranches of the Transport Layer and the Tracking Layer. These layers are engineered to provide low-latency, high-volume data connectivity and advanced missile tracking from proliferated low-Earth orbit, respectively. Both are designed to interoperate seamlessly, forming a cohesive and robust space-based network critical for Joint All Domain Command and Control.

Vitesse Systems is a proud partner in the manufacturing and testing of critical antenna components for these programs. Our involvement spanned the full lifecycle, from design and analysis to the fabrication of antenna arrays supporting the Link 16 communication system. This crucial capability for tactical data links with terrestrial warfighters enables beyond-line-of-sight communications. Vitesse Systems delivered over 80 L Band arrays in 24 months.

Our L Band Antenna solution for the SDA’s Transport Layer boasts industry-leading modular SWaP-C (Size, Weight, Power, and Cost) through innovative materials and advanced miniaturization techniques, delivering unprecedented efficiency and performance. We’ve designed this solution with inherent modularity, ensuring it easily integrates, flexibly adapts to various missions, and simplifies future upgrades. Furthermore, our American-made L Band array is designed for mass production, delivering consistent, high-performance connectivity across hundreds of satellites, making the SDA’s proliferated architecture a reality.

This complex effort also included developing and leveraging a new electroforming process, managing the production of a high volume of parts, and extensive supply chain coordination. Our team executed comprehensive qualification testing on dedicated units, including rigorous vibration, acoustic, and performance over thermal assessments. We’re nearing completion of these crucial tests, ensuring the robust functionality and reliability of the components we provide. Notably, while industry-wide supply chain issues cause significant delays, Vitesse Systems delivered all components months in advance of contract dates, actively contributing to keeping the Tranche program on schedule.

“We’re incredibly excited to continue our strong partnership on these groundbreaking SDA programs, specifically our contributions to Tranche 1 and Tranche 2,” said Matt Alty, CEO of Vitesse Systems. “Our continued investment in our manufacturing and testing capabilities, including our ability to manage complex supply chains and large-volume production, has positioned us to effectively scale and support the demands of programs like the PWSA. Delivering ahead of schedule, especially given current supply chain challenges, underscores our commitment to providing cutting-edge solutions that contribute to the success of these critical national security initiatives.”

Vitesse Systems is dedicated to supporting the advancement of space-based capabilities that enhance global security and connectivity. We look forward to the continued success of the SDA’s PWSA and our ongoing contributions to these vital programs.
